Urethane seals are a new type of material between rubber and plastic. In practical, they are often used as replacement of rubber products. Due to its excellent wear resistance (the best among elastomers), high strength (3-5 times that of ordinary rubber), high elongation, high elasticity (large load support capacity, good shock absorption effect), wide hardness range (Shore A0 Shore D70), and excellent performance such as oil resistance, acid and alkali resistance, and radiation resistance, urethane seals have become increasingly widely used as key components in mining hydraulic supports and other equipment in recent years.
Urethane has good process to machine as seal. Generally urethane tube was casted in advance, it will be machined by CNC when it is on demand. That will avoid seal stock and size variation.
Based on different working condition, different urethane is recommended, like type of emulsion, movable or Static sealing, ambient temperature, self heat building up, instantaneous pressure, deformation resistance, install-ability, etc. TDI/PTEMG urethane is normally used in water based emulsion, MDI/PTEMG urethane is used in water base, and also because of easy installation. PPDI urethane is working in extremely crucial environment.
